REFERENCES TO SOME HISTORICAL EVENTS CONNECTED TO THE MAJOR PROPHETS

    ISAIAH:  The withdrawal of the Assyrian army, led by Sennacherib:  Isaiah 36-37, also II Kings 18:13-19:37

    JEREMIAH:  Jehoiakim burns the scroll containing Jeremiah's words from the Lord:  Jeremiah 36:1-32

    EZEKIEL:  He is carried by the hair to Jerusalem and sees a pagan idol in the Temple and sees "elders" burning incense to ceremonially unclean animals drawn on a wall:  Ezekiel 8:1-13

    DANIEL:  Daniel interprets the "writing on the wall" at a banquet given by Belshazzar, the "regent" of Babylon (son of the emperor):  Daniel 5:1-39

Ahijah predicts Jereboam to be king of northern tribes:  I Kings 11:26-39
